This web site was officially launched on August 5th, 1998 which was earlier registered and hosted under a free server with the name uctamil.8m.com. Since July 19th, 2001 until now it's known as uoctamil.com. Our web site has been successfully running continuously for the past 11 years.

The success of our website is the dedication of the volunteers who have helped us reach this standard we are now. First and foremost is our senior web administrator, N.Selvakumar who has done a tremendous creation in designing this site. We would like to acknowledge the other web team administrators K.Yogendirakumar, G.Kuhajeyan, V.Anushan, A.Ashok, R.Sanjeevan, R.Karjini, M.Jeyakaran, K.Branavan and S.Ravishankar for their continuous support.

The mission of this website is the best function of effective communication and information sharing, also serves as a general source of information about the Tamil students, Faculty of Science & UCSC, University of Colombo. So far we had succeeded in our mission, where we had more than 600 past and present students who had registered their information in the database, many events, vancancies and news were announced via our website. This website is a treasure for us which contains an enormous amount of useful information.
